About us

Behind the initiative, Mascara New Technologies. The company specializes in innovative water treatment solutions with the use of renewable energy.

The first development phase resulted in the industrialization of OSMOSUN®, the world’s first industrial product range of seawater and brackish water solar powered desalination plants, with a daily production capacity ranging from 1 to 1000 m3 and up to 20 000 m3 with hybridized energy sources. For more than eight years, this groundbreaking patented innovation enables communities, public utilities and private organizations from the whole world to produce affordable and sustainable fresh water with no greenhouse gas emission.

To continue developing the water access program for remote islands and areas and offer sustainable systems and services, Mascara has launched in 2022 Kori Odyssey.

LIKE THE SEASHELLS, FACILITATE
DEVELOPMENT COMING FROM THE OCEAN

Kori Odyssey was named after the Cowry seashells, natural organisms coming from tropical oceans, which, beyond their role in the ecosystems, enabled human development for centuries, through their use as currencies throughout many of the world’s civilizations. This symbolizes 2 pillars of the Innitiative:
cooperation and sustainable development.

Kori Odyssey identifies water related challenges in order to support and implement sustainable water access solutions enabling human development in remote areas, both coastal or inland.
These water access solutions are based on a strong expertise in social engineering, inclusive business modelling and water technologies powered by renewables.

Ultimately, Kori Odyssey’s projects, target to positively impact 12 of the United Nation’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals, starting with the number 6: Clean Water and Sanitation.
